I love Zumba. I love Weightlifting. I love Squash. I love Karate and I am trying to fall in love with running. My longest run to date was about 22 miles. Every year weather and health permit, I run from Carmel, Indiana to Broadripple which is about 10 miles. I ran that distance round trip for a couple years when I was younger. I don’t run very fast so I get bored even though I have good music to accompany me.
My running app on my phone says that I am averaging around 9 minutes per mile. I use high intensity interval methods to maximize my speed and reduce my boredom. I run close to sprint speed for about 2 minutes and then reduce my speed for about 3 minutes. I repeat this process throughout my run. I love to challenge myself physically and mentally, especially on my birthday. I trained with Chi Running form and discovered my legs and body don’t wear out so quickly or not at all. After about a quarter of a mile into my run, I feel like I can’t stop. I have included some videos that I use to formulate my training program. Additionally, I plan to run in the events I have listed as well. For now, I have only ran in the Indy Mini last year and I am not sure of my plans for this year due to the Corona Virus. So stay tuned.
