Squash

Early on in my life, the only ball I could concentrate on long enough to throw and catch was the American football.  I tried to play softball, baseball and tennis but I didn’t have eye to ball to hand coordination. Therefore, I either missed the ball or got hit by the ball.  I work out really hard at the gym. I talk to a lot of people. One day I was talking to a gentlemen about various sports I wanted to add to my skill sets that are part of my bucket list. Our conversation got directed to the subject of Squash because he was looking for someone to learn the game for the sake of getting a good cardio work out. He had an extra racquet so almost every Tuesday and Thursday we play against the ball. Our goal when we play Squash is  to maintain a steady constant volley.  It challenged me to focus on a ball smaller than a softball, baseball and tennis ball. I now own two Squash racquets and a tube of balls. To my surprise, I am able to hit the ball and we are able to sustain a volley from time to time.   Now, I have the ability to keep constant focus on hitting that small fast hurling ball. My friend Rob didn’t come to the gym the Thursday before it closed due to the pandemic. I hope my friend Rob and his family are okay because I am looking forward to beating the Squash ball.
